This refreshing wine is a delightful accompaniment to a light summer lunch, a leisurely picnic, or a laid-back summer evening. Our Rosé offers cranberry and late-summer watermelon aromas with echoing flavors, all wonderfully supported by bracing acidity and a citrus-like finish.
The 2011 vintage was defined by a very long and cold growing season punctuated by abundant rain in the spring and fall. The greater than average rainfall and cold soils delayed bud break and pushed the growing season back nearly one month. Spring and summer in the Russian River Valley were persistently foggy and cold, resulting in only a couple of days over 85°F. The small but exceptional crop we harvested produced grapes with crisp acidity, gorgeous aromas and intense flavors.
Our sixth release of the Rosé of Pinot Noir is a blend of fruit from both Russian River Valley and Green Valley. We whole-cluster pressed Pinot Noir grapes and blended that juice with a small amount of Pinot Noir Saignée to produce our elegant and lively Rosé.
